Deriving Abstraction from Reality Henrique Montesanti Pencil on Paper
The purpose of this project was to take an ordinary everyday object, and slowly start zooming in to a certain area of the object, but as it is done, we had to start applying Imagining Transforming Techniques. Therefore, in order to create something very interesting, I decided to use an object that we don't pay much attention to, and as you can see, I chose an earphone plug.
For my first image, I drew the earphone plug up close, but I chose to incorporate part of the cable so it could still have some context to what the object is; and maintaining a 3D format.
For my second image, I zoomed into the earphone plug itself, I wanted to explore the use of Led from the pencils in order to create a shiny and round shape.
For my third image, I decided to use the upper triangular shape from my second drawing and destroy it, by making it a 3D hexagon. By doing so, I incorporated the technique of multiplication and also making the object smaller, almost as if it were degrading/disappearing.
For my final drawing, I took the triangular shape and turned it into a hexagon once again, but instead of having many round shapes, I created one overall round shape with many hexagons incorporated. i liked this drawing, and it seems as if the shapes is standing out of the paper.
